Political Unconscious and Situation Irony - The History Teacher

                  Students produced the self-interpretation with Political unconscious. The teacher could not input Signified to student’s Imaginary with the teacher’s control as the symbolic. This mean that student’s thinking is different with the teacher’s intention as the ideology. Jacque Derrida said that Signified can freely flow the various of meaning such as the death of author which be named by Roland Barthes. Student’s unconsciousness recognized the hidden meaning from the teacher’s dominated Signifier, because the teacher’s intended innocence is not the fact such Real. First, in “Enola Gay dropped one tiny atom”, the teacher hid the death of Japanese as the American Imperialist. The atom bomb killed many people and is not “tiny”. Students could know that “tiny” could be massive and dangerous. Second, in “Was of the Roses in the Garden”, the teacher did not teach the tragedy of soldiers such as the center sight of the glorious and but no bloody kings. Students learned the small and important war from the teacher. They, however, became the violence people, because the violence can be in the close place and easily begin anywhere opposite to the innocence. Third, in “The Spanish Inquisition”, the teacher did not mention the problem of invader to the minority such as the genocide. Students could have questions with the critical thinking to teacher’s inappropriate content about the inquisition. The teacher, thus, was failed such as Situation Irony that his intention and teaching controls the student’s performance because of their Political unconscious
